Our 2 Omega's
« on: 08 January 2012, 23:03:09 »

Hi, I thought it was time to present me and my dad's Omega's. :)

1st one is mine, it's a 98' (MY98) 2.0l 16V CD-Reflection Estate, has a mileage of about 122k miles (205k km) and so far,
I've had to replace the cylinderhead (Cambelt slipped because of a waterpump-bearing fail), the bootlid (because of rust),
the starterengine, brakes, powersteeringpump, heater bypass valve, exhaust-manifold, a-arm and load's of other little thing's I wasn't ready for.  :D

I also did some little modification's to it, I put on some lower spring's (35mm), buyed 4 nice Brock B8 18" rims on 235/40R18 95Y tyres, fit an Pioneer DEH-140UB stereo with an 900W Magnat amplifier and an 400W Subwoofer, also some other little thing's

The Day I bought it, it looked like this:
(07/2010)

(10/2010)

(2011)
Some nice new Alloy's.  ;)

Both Mig's  :y

Now my dad's one, is a 99' (MY00) 2.5 V6 Elegance Saloon with about 118k miles (198k km) on the clock, bought 2005 with a milage of just 50k miles and so far surprisingly, nothing's horribly failed (unlike the 8v Omega a and 16v Omega b saloons he had before, iclusively my one).

I have to say though, that both car's are pretty "used" and tyred by now, no showroom object's, but we love them cause they are workingclass hero's and so far we had 4 of them (although 1 was what you call an Carlton Mk2), best car's ever made for the daily job! :)

Thank you guy's! :)

I also made a few weeks ago an Video just to see how fast it accelerates to 60mph and in comparison to other 2.0 Ecotec Mig's it's a whole second faster, reaches 60mph in just 12 seconds (2.5 V6 auto needs 11,5 seconds), so I am quite happy with my new reconditioned cylinderhead. :)
