Just an idle thought but when Merkel and Sakozy meet every ten days (at great expense no doubt) or whatever it is and they pause for a photocall what language are they talking to each other in? This morning I thought I lip read Sarkosy saying "Did you see X Factor last night?" but I may be wrong.

Perhaps Cameron could reverse his veto on the understanding that the whole of Europe has to only speak English?

Expensive hobby, which history shows we have always tried to stay out off, until we have had no alternative but bang the heads together of those arguing little European boys and girls, but by the time we have paid to replace all of the toys they broke throwing them out of their prams, like all good grand parents do we end up broke. Last time it was so expensive we had to call on Uncle Sam for help and those terms really cost us dear.
