What do you think of my bra???
« on: 16 January 2012, 13:37:29 »

I am sure, even as I type this, that I'm going to get slated for asking this...  :-[

I am sick to back teeth of picking up stone chips on my Omega!! Made worse by the fact that Mr Vauxhall in all his wisdom decided to use white primer on a black car!!!  ::)

So I'm thinking about getting one of these...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Opel-Vauxhall-Omega-B-00-04-Leather-Bonnet-Bra-Cover-/150638828605?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2312c61c3d

I would only use it when I'm on long motorway journeys, and certainly wouldn't leave it on the car when parked up, so I'm not worried about moisture being caught under it and causing corrosion.  I am worried that it could move about though, and cause friction damage, which would kind of defeat the object of having it in the first place.

Has anyone had any experience of bonnet bars, not necessarily on Omegas...

TIA  :y

Seen many cars running around with them in foreign parts but not as many over here :-\

Worth a go I would have thought :-\

Was thinking I'd get one before I get my bonnet repainted.  That way, if it does damage the paint, it will be going back to the supplier and I haven't lost anything.  :y

I used them in the past, and they cause color difference when you take them out..

I'd be more minded to go with 3M stonechip film, I've heard many good things. and it can be waxed on top of.

I take your point Cem, but I'll not be keeping it on for any length of time, and we don't get the sun here like you do.  :-\

I'm certainlyinterested in this film.  I would assume that it needs to be professionally applied.  Anyone know of somewhere in the UK that does this?

Local, no idea if they're any good.

If you don your beard and get over to DetailingWorld.co.uk, have an ask on there and they'll be able to recommend someone.

I've been on there before mate.  I try and avoid it now, as it has a horrible reaction with my OCD and I feel the need attack all my heater vents with my wife's blusher brush!!  ::)
