My next question, (and as you Poirot have answered my first one  ;D) why would they swap a perfectly good Dipstick Tube like every other Omega has for that one?

If there is a bracket from the dipstick to the Bastaed Bolt?

To explain what I mean.......
Had a look at a 03 2.6 the other day and the dipstick was loose so not attached. Removed the Pain in the Arse Bolt, moved the engine lifting bracket to find that the bracket on the dipstick is about an inch lower than it should be. So the famous Bolt has no chance of going through it.
I can't actually think I have ever seen a bracket of any description to secure the dipstick other than obviously the flange with its hole in attached to the dipstick.......  ??? and if there is such a bracket, why alter the dipsticks?

When I took my bastard bolt out something fell off which I never did find.. But I think it was something which held the dipstick in place, now held secure with tie wraps..

Two different dipstick Tubes

> Eng No 08302849 Dipstick Tube is 90467272
Eng No 08302850> Use Dipstick Tube 24467218 with Bracket 24467215 and Bolt 11097791

Although I am sure I have not seen one of them.....
Except the one in the guide - an 03 plate 3.2 - which you changed the stat on whilst I wrote the guide.  Do you not remember, Stokie? :P

This is getting very, very confusing. My engine number is greater than 08578512 but it still has the "old style" dipstick tube, at least when changing the stat it was held by b-bolt and that's where I put it back also... And no indication of engine change or anything like that  :-\ :-\ :-\

He's blotted it from his memory because the music was so bad. ;)
