Hi all,

Sorry for poor pic but was going to post this for a while, kept forgetting and only remembered a minute ago  ::) .......

This black object next to my interior/courtesy light has a wire going from it, under the courtesy light housing and goes off somewhere I don't know. It has a little velcro pad on the bottom so it sticks to the fabric roof.

What is it?

No idea from your picture, but I'm sure it'll be a mic from a now defunct phone kit.  :y :y

Sorry for stupid Q but where would the wire lead to and can I trace it back and remove?

It's probably tracked down the passenger pillar, and behind the console, but that's just a suggestion  ???

No me neither buddy, just my tuppence worth!
I would have thought the most common place for a mic though would have been at the top of the drivers pillar, which would save having to mess around with the roof lining?

Besides, unless they're interested in a 29 year old male occasionally jerking off when parked in a deserted car park going about his daily business why would they bother?  :-\ ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Got the same kit on 2001 Vectra V6 I bought for my younger brother a few years back. Nokia official car kit. With a feed back down to what was quite a large plastic cradle - realising the cradle and all wiring was long gone he just chopped it off, but I'd test and then chop as his went all under the headlining and down the A pillar!

Sorry for my ignorance (I know nowt about wiring and electrics  :-[)...

So, this wire goes under the interior light as I mentioned, then down the pillar internally.... so where does it then come out to where the cradle would have been? Absolutely no othe rsigns of holes, wires etc. Also I do want rid... but do I just cut it and tape it? And how do I test it?

Cheers  :y

It'll probably just pull out  :-\ just ease the wire out from the trim, it'll probably still have a jackplug on the end. A phone kit won't be too difficult to fit/remove ..................... if Halfords can fit one  ::) ::)

I have a similar kit removed from the Astra SWMBO used to have, the only connection to the car's loom was a live feed taken from the glove box light.  :y
