You wanted her to walk, you want her to talk, you will now spend the next umpteen years wishing she could not / telling her to shut up or give it a rest etc....Nice one mate, welcome to parenthood..... :y :y :y

Moments like that are priceless, congratulations on being at the right place at the right time.  :y :y :y

Missed my daughters first steps on her own just over a month a go, where she is in the Ukraine, but my wife fortunately had video camera running, where a stray cat had got into the house. Where my daughter loves cats, she started chasing after it and forgot she needs mums hand to steady her. She had been walking around the walls and crawling across the spaces for several months before this. If she had a bottle, this would be hold in her teeth as crawled and if she had an apple she would push it in front of her a bit and then when she caught up push it some more.  :) :)

My wife sent me a video the other day showing my daughter, doing her shuffling dancing steps to some music that was playing, she is a bit unsteady on her feet still, but gaining confidence all of the time as I'm sure your daughter will.  :y :)

Using Skype everyday with a video link is great, but not the same as being there.

One of my friends told me that his son started speaking hard and although he had a special language it was understood by his parents only. The son was 3yrs old and still didn't tell anything but glu-glu and pic-pic okay what should be done they decided against understanding the son and see wonder : the son started speaking fluently 1.5hrs later!  I have a 1.5yrs old daughter and matey I must have much more creativity and extra energy than my job needs!  :y
