Had to go to heathrow this afternoon and the windows would not de-mist 100%, was OK on a trip to last Saturday when i went to Portsmouth, the drains are unblocked. Is this a sign the HBV gives when it is giving up

Condensation constantly on the inside of the car could damp inside. Anything damp at all? Seats, floormats etc...

More likely to be the pollen filter. 

Mine was fogging up and when I pulled out the old filter it was black!! Gave it a shake and loads of dust and shite fell out.  A new filter was about £8 from the local car accessories shop as opposed to £16 from Halfrauds!!

Facelift car? ... It's supposed to be black ie charcoal filter.

Really?? Hmmm the one I pulled out was a filthy (black) paper one...    I'd never changed it before... 

Anyway I'm not constantly wiping the windows now, so it works!!  Any issues with having a paper filter, if it should be charcoal ??

It had a new Vauxhall pollen filter (12mths) last year and the correct black one, all carpets are dry

The carbon filter is used on the facelift cars as its required to get good operation from the pollution sensor

if its a saloon are the vents behind first aid box cover in the boot clear,free from obstructions

It's a 03 3.2 elite estate, going to have a look at the pollen filter now

Pollen filter clean and dry, no coollent loss

Why I mentioned are the floor mats or seats damp... I left a pair of wet overalls in my car, the windows whilst the overalls were there, always condensationed up. When I eventually removed them it had left the seat damp, so until that had dried out the condensation remained.

carpets and seats dry, just been out on a 20 mile drive and windows de-misted 100%. i'm going to keep an eye on this.

I had the same problem on my 1996 Omega, windows were so bad and it was caused by the recirculating flap being stuck closed, arm from actuator had come off flap so it wouldn't open.

if your car is a saloon,check the spare wheel well,mine was half full of water,drilled a hole in the black grommet to let water out,now the misting problem has gone..

Had a new front screen recently? i know if there not sealed properly in u can get alot of condensation but prob a long shot
