After that tree jumped out behind me while i was reversing my Elite estate     a year ago and put a large dent in my tailgate, i have finally located a spare tailgate in the right colour (Z380 Krypton Green ). The only downside to the spare tailgate i have been offered is that it is from a CD model and does not have the spoiler fitted. I have looked through all the maintenance guide section before posting and cannot find any reference to its removal or refitting. Any members had any experience of removing and replacing the spoiler? Thanks.

I've just fitted an Irmscher spoiler to my CDX estate:

Depending on whether you've got a ProdDrive or Irmscher spoiler they are attached differently, with nuts/bolts and or sikaflex type sealant. I haven't taken one off, but if it is the Irmscher there are two nuts to remove off studs at the ends of the spoiler and two bolts to remove either side of the centre. Then you're going to need something like a cheesewire saw to slice through the sealant. Glad I didn't have to do this; mine was supplied already removed from the tailgate.

So you had one supplied? What was the cost? Suppose it came ready primed. May be an option to fit new one to my replacement tailgate.

I personally found it harder to remove the estate spoiler and actually broke a rear window on one 
Sikaflex however is a fantastic way of sticking any spoiler on.

It was only 'supplied' in as much as I bought a second hand one already removed, off Ebay.  Wasn't primed either; that is the original silver paint. I gave it 3 coats of grey primer, 3 coats of black sapphire and 3 coats of clear lacquer.

Oh and amazingly I got it for £15

Thanks Daz for the heads up regarding breaking the tailgate glass. Iv`e had two fitted in the last year and don`t fancy getting another as they took a few days to be delivered to Autoglass. Silkaflex seems like an excellent idea. So i assume Silkaflex on its own will be ok to fix it on? Mind you, if the replacement hasn`t got one fitted, i could always drill new holes for the studs. Will have a look on e-bay. Cheers to you both for info.
