Headlight removal

Hi guys

Does any one no how to remove the headlight unit on a facelift 2000 model

its a dam sight easyer on a facelift to a pre facelift that u have to take the bumper off!!! or ull rip your hands to bits tryin to get washer jet pipe off headlight & tryin to get the jet unit over the bumper is a nightmare!

so yours should be easyer  ;)

but the link they posted shud b easy to follow & u have it done in about an hour  :y

Or as I done got light out (with a bit of force) and dropped it and broke headlight washer :-\

ROFL yep i did same but broke mine off tryin to force it over the bumper so bumper removed to fit the 2 facelift ones but then realised i had2 cut the trim pannels under headlights but atleast i had a irmscher grill to cover cuts as didnt realise there differnt from pre-facelift :y

I just did mine and got it sorted fairly easily, apart from the removal of the fixing thats well hidden under the headlight! What a daft place to secure it!

yup only need an socket extension bar, oh and some bluetack or grease when trying to put it back  :y

The guys that design these cars are probably great engineers but rubbish mechanics!

While I was under the car straining to reach the fixing, some old guy with a stick and a dog came by chuckling and knocked some odd bit of tat he found in the gutter toward me with his stick, and said "is what you're looking for?", my subdued reply was something like "f**k off, plonker!"

I guess I was lucky to have been able to remove it without having to remove the bumper on mine then, just needed a bit of force and a long screw driver for a bit of leverage though. Mind you it did take me a few hours to change the xenon light bullb and re fit.
