Slightly lumpy idle on gas and petrol?
« on: 28 January 2012, 18:53:37 »

Hi guys. Back again. :( One day I'll have an Omega that just works!

I've got a bit of a lumpy idle on petrol and gas when up to temperature. I've cleaned the throttle body and the little hole inside it, checked the breather pipes and emptied out the catch tank (was about half full with condensation and a bit of oily mayo) but it hasn't made any difference. I've taped up a slightly split vac pipe going to the inlet manifold but it hasn't really made any difference.

Is there anything else I should be looking for guys?

Cheers.

How good is the LPG calibration? Wondering if the LPG has dragged the trims well off, which will mess up petrol as well.

Pulls clean all the way to the redline on LPG and petrol. As far as I know it's fine. I'll dig out my code reader and post up the fuel trims if I can find them tomorrow. It's just a bit jerky at idle and if it's in drive and just crawling. Once up anything above walking pace it's fine. I just know there's a problem somewhere and knowing my luck with this car, it'll only get worse! Although in all fairness, it improved on its own a few days ago. It was rough as hell at idle, could see the exhaust pipes bouncing up and down at idle (still can a little bit) then all of a sudden, it's improved on its own to just a light jerk and a bit of a kangaroo hop when crawling.

Just been out and thrown some Vpower in it again and gone for a 10 minute drive to see how it behaves, it's now pretty much bang on as smooth as it was on petrol and gas. How strange.
