Sky news report about 100 cars abondoned on the m40 near high Wycombe due to snow.

Put my lurcher dog outside to go to toilet and he has just spent about 10 minutes running round in high speed circles, where he loves playing in the snow.

Rained here most of the evening, so the snow's almost washed away.

Most minor roads are now covered in ice, and all buses ceased at around 5pm. Our train services ran pretty well normally, though passenger numbers were well below the norm.
Consequently, no early finish for moi this evening!

"looks" like a bit of a thaw here now, trees and bushes not holding any snow like they where earlier.

we probably have a couple of inches now in ramsgit looks more like theres drifting going on so think i will give work a miss as it usually gets worse the further inland you go and works in that direction down some nice country lanes and if i get stuck there will be no rescue from wifey....wifey does not do snow

I've just rescued one of the paramedics who clipped a kerb in the 10cm of snow we have, and am trying to get out of doing the car in a ditch off the M2 with no other details. I'm supposed to be finished in an hour.

Might take a trip up the Horseshoe Pass, its only up the road and its probably a couple of feet deep

Snow depth is 34cm (1.1 feet ) and temperature is -14^oC. It's cold. In the morning I had to use my snow chain set, which can be applied for a lot but not all of tyre size by manufacturer's description. I think  needless to mention that although I use normal 205/60 R15 tyres the chain was under sized  so I had to hack the set extensioned it with 5cm...and done! Checked , tried that's okay!

Relatively mild in Bath, snow that there was is gone. But the cold last night was enough to kill the battery in the ascona! MIG is better insulated it seems!
