I'm tempted to go and find a large, empty car park... 

not with brand new winter tires!

Aw I suppose I could take the MR2, that has summer tyres on it.. although it currently also has no number plates attached

suitable uınless the car decides to visit the trees and kerbs.. 

It's got such a short wheelbase it tends to just do pirouettes.. Not that I've ever tried, you understand.

Saw an Astra G bombing along a road, on-coming traffic, Astra decides just go through this snow, way to fast, slams into the kerb. Inside wheel now at 45 degree angle, women drive who got out, just looked at it and looked stunned.

The sad thing is, you can imagine she genuinely doesn't understand how it happened..

No one has explained to her that snow and ice are slippery. 

Probably works for local council as a health and safety executive on £35k+ pa. 

I'm sure she will do a risk assessment tomorrow and arrange a recall of every Astra where she concludes they have faulty steering when it is cold.

Well the roads were basically clear this morning, aside from my estate as always - a tiny bit of slush here and there but once you were on major roads (like the A329) everything was fine.

Still, didn't stop some fool in a Fiat 500 (who buys those, anyway?) doing 30mph the whole way down the NSL & 50 limit A-roads.. well, until we got to Virginia Water, where (s)he sped up to 40mph. Must be safer to do 40mph past two primary schools than it is on a country A-road, apparently...

Got to send Mrs TB to Great Missery, a large village about 4 miles from WIM, this afternoon, for the weekend, as its her college weekend. Coincidentally, tomorrow, I'll be passing her, as I'm off to WIM as well

Couple of inches on the car this morning. Our close wad a tiny bit slippery if provoked. Main roads no problem. Just wet. Slight boarder of snow creeping into lane3.

Normal motorway driving apart from that.

I waited in the morning for rush hour crowd pass (I slept by the way ) then came the sun and melted the roads..

Doesn't look like we got any more, not sure about further south as that's where I was last night when it started chucking it down

Fortunately the council have turned up to do the snow clearing here (private estate and we pay them to do it! )  Yesterday they ran up and down once with a Transit and gritting trailer onto the sheet ice expecting it to work I think they got told they had to come back again today and do it properly

News from Mrs TB, who left at 7am, only the estate is slippery, otherwise all roads perfectly clear.

from snow some of the highways are closed.. Ankara-Bursa today was close..In east part of the country
several meters of snow, too may villages blocked.. and now roads are totally frozen 
 
for this weekend I was planning to go fathers city but I give up..

40 cm and -10^oC at night  I like winter but must admit I'm beginning to be to fed up with the snow...

No snow here.. got a sun tan today, in fact. Then again, I'm in the south of France.
