Quick scuttle removal Q...
« on: 03 February 2012, 23:34:11 »

Hi guys,

Been reading this guide...

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90656.0

All makes sense but anyone know where the two clips are on the passenger side? I thought it was just remove wiper arms, remove 8 bolts and plastic trim along the engine bay and it would come out?

Under the screen seal. Lift up the leading edge and work along until you find the clips. 90dgree turn with a flat blade screw driver, or the same Torx as the drivers side screw.

Nope, I got the wrong end of the stick. You mean the two metal clips that hold the polen filter section down? Under the rubber strip you pull off ...?

Yes, that's what I was looking for  :y

To quote the guide...

''Then you have the a couple of clips holding the front part of the scuttle on the passenger side I removed these''.

...so as you've mentioned Chris, these are under the rubber that comes off in front of the pollen filter flap?  :y

I don't remove them personally, just lever the scuttle around the clip leaving said clip in place. But each to their own. :)

Nice one Chris. I'm sure it will become apparent anyway when I do it but did just want to double check  :y

Neither do I. Just be aware that the screen wash pipe and wiring is clipped to the join end. Scuttle will swing out of the way with these still connected.  :y

best advice going when removing scuttle as if to try to remove the washer clips 99% of the time they will break  :(
