Just finished this in work.
« on: 05 February 2012, 00:09:43 »

Just finished refurbing this car in work.
It's a 1997 TVR Cerbera 4.2 V8
Bought it cheap then cleaned it up with new carpets, redyed the leather interior, retrimmed roof and door inserts, fitted new speakers and sorted engine and electrics.
Then sold car to a customer who then wanted more work done  ;D
Complete respray in original colour, 18" TVR wheels

looks good - feather in cap. Some of the guys at work had them a few years ago but fell out with them - I know one of them also lost control on the Nurburgring with his son in car but luckily no injuries. He then moved to Porsche.

A nice looking job 14 - well done on the resto. 8)

I knew a bloke who had one and have to say that the sound it made was gorgeous but, to me, it’s rather like listening to a sexy voiced woman on ‘certain’ telephone services (I’m told), the aural allure is compelling but the reality of what may lie behind that sound in the cold light of practical reality, may well be very disappointing.

The crazy thing is that the opportunities he had to drive it (living as he did in central London) were limited, so it spent most of its time parked up collecting bird poop – then, when he did fancy a drive, the bastid never started without a fight and invariably took a header with some electrical issue or other during his journey. ;D ;D

He grew up, gave it to his then girl-friend, and moved over to a Porsche 9whateverthehell. :-*

They are a bit temperamental but it's normally electrics and they are that simply put together it's normally an easy fix.
They are a car that needs to be owned by someone who is willing to get there hands dirty and knows a bit electrical/mechanical.
My boss has a Cerbera and is currently transplanting gauges from a TVR 350 into it which involved sourcing the bits, then sending them to an ex employee of TVR who reprogrammed them to run on the V8 engine as the TVR 350 is a V6, and also display Cerbera on the display instead of TVR 350.
All the mechanical oil/water senders need to be replaced with electrical ones, then all plumbed in and wired to the Cerbera's ECU.
A project for next winter maybe  :D
