As previously said your MV6 whether ex plod or not would have not come fitted with Bose so it would have been a standard HU with 4ohm setup.

If its not sounding right then somethings wrong, either rip it out and check the components and wiring and fix it or fit your Bose setup with a compatible Bose HU.

Job done.

So would i be better off with a uprated sony headunit 4xspeakers all of same brand & output & fit a sub in boot? i have a full sony xplode set up 10cm 120w & 13cm 160w & already realised i need adaptor plates to fit in car doors.. 2x12" pentaginal subs with xplode amps & an xplode head unit 4x50w...

Or shall i fit the bose system... But What CD head unit is compatable??? AS the CDR500 is 4ohm  :( or is it only cassette & multi changer option?? i think guy still has a cassette headunit & changer but out of a elite 97 saloon.. but will it be compatable says bose on cassette flap...

or do each bose system have a specific set up comes as a package setup? if 1 head unit fails you calnt just fit an exsact model & it will work??

Is Anybody LOCAL to Worcester J7 M5 & has an estate with bose system fitted i could hear working...???

Again Sorry to go over this already nearly exhausted posted question....

Its going to have to be your choice as to whether you fit Bose or not, might be worth waiting till you've heard one and then decide, there a lot better than the standard set up and a cheap upgrade with an added bonus on the Estates of a pre made Sub Box thats ready to fit, having said all that there not brilliant by today's standards and or not going to sound as good as a modern good OEM up grade.

All the Bose Amps across the Mig range were the same so the Bose HU's had similar interface outputs but that's not to say that HU's are going to be compatible with your Radio Display or its wiring, your friends HU will probably either a Bose CCR800 or CCRT700.

So is it only a cassette option for a head unit???   :(   i will have to ask him what is written on the front..??

thats fine, i got one to do myself but too wet to lay under car, i think the bose system sounds quiet good in mine, does main thing and drowns daughter out when she having a screaming fit

i like it!!  :y

i do love my music tho But if i did fit the bose system & HU i was hoping to RCA lead the head unit with scotch lock adaptors to rca to my sony subs but as the head unit will be 2ohm & the amp 4ohm i dout it will work...

so i may be better off with a full sony setup altho i really didnt want my twin sub boxes in the boot!! may have to make sum to fit in rear quater panels...? can you pm me a mobile number & i let you know when im over your way mate  :y

BOSE will only work with BOSE

BOSE will not connect to anything aftermarket whatsoever

No need to delete this - hopefully others will understand that what you have asked cannot be done, but don`t worry, you are not the first to have asked this, and you certainly (unfortunately) will not be the last.

Bose is a real headache for Omega owners, and the trouble is that when you are new to it, it can be very frustrating to accept that there is not a solution, and I can understand that there is always the hope that you can find a way to make it work. Regrettably the forum is full of posts of other members frustrations and heartaches, and it is always worth a good read through them to save yourself from making similar mistakes.

However, from the PM you have just sent me, you appear to think that you may have offended me with your rantings, and I can truly say that is not the case - it would take much more than that to upset me, and I wanted to make this point in public rather than by PM. We are all friends on here, and if we all agreed with each other then this forum would be a very dull place indeed - the forum needs friendly banter, technical advice is always available - but please be aware that it is highly likely that many questions have been asked and answered by someone previously over the years, so its always worth trawling the archives, else it gets a bit "same same" on here.

Now if you really want to see how difficult is it to offend people on here, I shall make two statements (again - terribly sorry old boy, I am a little tired) that most on here know already, but you may not.

1) - I can`t stand BOSE equipment
2 )- I can`t stand Vauxhall Omega`s

See, even after saying that, I`m still allowed on here because the Oofers on here are all friendly, and are more than happy to endulge in some friendly banter with me albeit whilst sharpening the pitchforks for when they can finally hunt me down.

Cheers mate due to my brain not been able to quite say what im trying to ask or it coming across backwards or missing words or using the incorect ones & even missing words out im trying not to offend people... also my spelling is a bit to say odd.. i can use the same word in a sentance twice & spel it too different ways.. any ways

i can now conclude that im not going to bother with the bose system but insted fit the full sony setup as the bose wont run my 2 extra subs due to the 2ohm headunit...

i thort that the head unit ran the amp which converted the power settings to the speakers & sub box via a different loom but i now know other wise...

shame tho because my mates bose system in his audi a3 sounds great, lovely & clear but just wants the extra bit of bass...

and as another oof user said was that the old 98spec bose system isnt going to be as good as a new updated 4ohm system...

so if any body is interested in a full bose system letme know (no headunit or autochanger tho) all i want is what i payed for it....

cheers to everybody who has commented on this post & if anybody can come up with a way to get a 2ohm system & headunit to run a 4ohm amp let me know soon! or are amps/subs available in 2ohm..... that could be compatable i wonder.....
