Newbie with MPG question

Hi,
 Have been looking around the forum for a while and have decided im going to make the jump and get a Vauxhall Omega Estate.
I have been looking at the 2.2 petrol and just wanted a general idea on what MPG people get in the real world and how long a tank of fuel last.

Just put my deposit down on what i hope to be a great little Omega 2.2 GLS (Manual)
Its got 103,000 on it but has just had its head redone and also a cambelt kit and service so should be good for 40k!  8)

I have a few plans for it already after having a flick through the forum. Cruise control and trip computer for a starter!  ::)
