Agreed, remember some time back got hold of one of their bolt on speaker in Amps for the Car, sounded bloody all-full.

They mainly do speakers now, but I did fall in love with their original 776 and 777 set up, Battery Pre Amp by the way.

Ahh . . . Some classic tracks coming out here . . . .

Toccata and fugue is probably the track that got me into music, but not in a classical way.

When I was very young (about 12), we stayed at Butlins in Minehead, and we were subjected to a variety of abysmal stage treats, acts and sounds - it was bloody awfull.

But then on stage came half a dozen guys with very loud electric guitars and a drummer, and played the most amazing rock track I had ever heard - Toccata and fugue, and I was captivated.

There are many versions of Toccata and fugue, or rather the way it is played and instruments used, usually synths or church organs being the favourite, but to hear a rock version with nothing but electric guitars is just awesome. I`d love to find a copy of the track with guitars, but all I ever come across is the version by Sky in the eighties, and it just isn`t "Rocky" enough for me, and most guitarists just try to play it as fast as they can as a technical challenge.

It wasn't that great when I got it, TBH. My cousin bought a pair of them cheap and came to me when it was clear they needed some work. It had been the subject of some unsympathetic "upgrades" and, even when tidied up and put back to standard spec. it wasn't that stable. Spent a while "taming" it with a view to getting it working and selling it on, but, on hearing it, I decided it was going nowhere.

Not thought about putting a valve amp in the car then ?

hi reading thru here and we have used the bose as a starting point for our stereo upgrades, as it is a lazy way of wiring the amp in as all connections are in one location and ran to all corners, and then change the speakers for 2 way component seperates, headunit and some signal wires, and seperate band pass sub with it ported thru the holes in the rear shelf with the subs removed, kack

Very nice. A valve amp with that much grunt would be just perfect.
