Electrical gremlin
« on: 13 February 2012, 12:07:11 »

Hi

I got an interesting issue with my car.
Whenever its cold, the power windows and mirrors wont work at all.
I suspected the drivers door switches at first. But discovered that the passenger window switches
are unresponsive too. And today I discovered that this also affects the sunroof.
After the car have been parked inside for a few hours, everything is working fine again for a while.
I haven't really started diagnosing yet, but I'm afraid it could be the main fuse board or something.

Have anyone experienced a similar issue?

I've had that on a few cars. Dismanteled the latch mechanism, cleaned out the original grease,
and regreased with a good low-temp grease. Can't remember the name of it at the moment.
But it works great. Never had any problems after doing that, even in -30c...

Nope, unlocked and latches where fine, just could get the doors open, all frozen tight around the sills.

Didn't wont to break the handle, so gently pored warm water around them whilst being paranoid about the frosted up glass.
