Picked up some service bits for the Calibra today and was surprised at the parts discount e.g oil filter was £3.99 but card reduced it to £1.19, got a new tool chest listed at £47.99 again came down to £34.00 

I think the filters there are cheaper than vaux with trade card?

The filters do work out about the same, but the GM air filter is far superior to the Hellfrauds one.

I only use it when all else fails, like wipers, I needed some in a hurry. Cheap, £15 down to £6, so bargin on trade. They are crap though, GM ones far better.

Won't get another as good as that one, and virtually all the ones out there have been owned by chavs it would appear.  The biggest enthusiast site only seems to have posts about under car lighting, 10,000W subs and body kits.

Dunno what to replace it with, but no hurry, as we have 2 cars.

Bosch wiper blades for my old Vectra were £10 for a pair from Halfords.

I went in covered in oil and flashed my VX + Saab trade cards as proof which was enough. They can ask for proof like wageslips from a garage but not in this case, better to target them when they are busy and a spotty youth is in charge I guess.

You need to work in the motor trade.
In my case I showed them an insurance certificate that stated 'motor trade' on it.

Having said that, what you need to provide by way of proof varies wildly depending on who you ask in store (i.e. the person I asked insisted I would need to provide a stack of invoices from other motor factors to prove I was a self employed mechanic, despite their own website saying all I need is a business card..)
