Just had a letter off the insolvency service
« on: 16 February 2012, 13:30:47 »

It was asking about my current income  ::)

So ............. I gave them a ring back and in a very polite manor, informed them that I was on JSA but recieving NO money in my pocket. Only NI contributions  :'( :'(

Oh, she said.  Just fill out the form asap and we will see what we can do   ???
With that, In my polite manor again, I asked her ........What can you do ?

With that, she told me that under these circumstance, and because I have NO chance of getting a rather job round here, they can go back to the judge on my behalf and ask him to disolve the bankruptcy early   :y ;D ;D ;D

In a few weeks, I could be solvent and back in business  ;D ;D ;D

Right .............. now to fix these bloody brakes the i'm off down the pub  :y :y
rather happy days   ;D ;D ;D

Aah, but, I don't think these services are fully government though are they. IIRC they have been set up for, not by, the govt. expressly to deal with the rising number of cases such your good self. Semi private institutions are they not?

Apologies if they are entirely govt. run and funded. Wouldn't want to denigrate what could be a first..... and maybe an only case of a helpful government financial official!!!! LOL

Hopefully thats good news for you Steve, their so busy at the moment, their trying to get people of the system to keep the work load down.

I must point out to you though that they have 15 year window to come back to you on if it comes to light that your doing really well in cash flow terms or you aquire substantial assets in that time.

Be warned, keep things close to your chest.

hmmm ? Not sure about a 15 year window ? My bankruptcy was in 1990, they are now deciding if I should get all or nothing of my private pension which would have kicked in last year. I do remember at the time being told that, 'in the future if I have a sizeable asset such as good equity in a house, they can make a claim on that'. Also my solicitor at the time told me, 'until you are earning over £17,000 a year, they are not interested in you'...  :(

How far back was all this Chris ?
I'm getting totaly different messages on this  :-\

Basicly, i've been told that they can only make a claim on pentions ect if your had been paying in at the time of your bankruptcy  :-\

I've been signing on since july 09.
Initially, claiming that I was working 16 hour or less so I got my stamp payed  ;)

It was only on the run up to bankruptcy that I totally ceased working  :-X :-X

When I finally got the judge to sign the order, my statement of affairs basicly said that I had ...........

A car worth about 600 quid
My tools
And my gonads  ;D ;D

I was living with swmbo.
The house is a council house in her name. ( I'm not even on the rent book )
We are not married so anything in the house other then my tools was her's  :y
I was upto date with HMRC, even though I didn't even pay any tax for the last 2 years.

I was warned by the reciever at the time that if I came into any money in my name during the next 12 months, I had to inform them and the would "take a slice"  :'(
Once the 12 months or less had run its corse, that was it  :y
Whatever I get is mine  :y
It would be interesting to know were I stand in the future because i'm down for half of my parents estate (when there brown bread) and they are not getting any younger  :(

I have to say i was declared bankrupt in 2009 after six months had a phone call from the receiver saying they were going to apply for a discharge then another three months on i had my discharge papers and no repayment order,
as long as you have been discharged then they have no further hold on you they cannot come back after then at all,
If the receiver put a BRO on you a bankruptcy restriction order then they can monitor you finances for 15 years but only with this.
in most cases they want to get rid of you unless you have been dishounest with them on declareing your assets,
And yes they took my pension B******s

I think its down to the judge how "lightly" you "get off" being declared bankrupt has its drawbacks anyway,as Im sure some people don't realise this, not just a case of you " getting away with it ", most people are in desperate financial crisis  to even consider going down that route.

Glad you can see the end of it M8, must be a relief for you and your missus :y

Careful what you put here or anywhere for that matter, spy's are every where  8)

Rus0205

No B.R.O on me  :y
When I submitted the details of my personel account, it had £6:51 in it  :y
Statement was totally honest and was excepted by the judge and reciever  :y

Reefpotato

I've had wholesailers who I owd money too, sitting outside my house at 7 o'clock in the morning to see if I was working  ;)
Emails of companys i've never heard of asking me to quote for work.
I even had a bloke bang on my door last summer offering to help me out on jobs (for next to nothing) as long as I gave him a reference if he needs one  ::)
I've also had a solicitor ringing me up, claiming that they had got my number out of the last yellow pages (when i've not been in there for 3 years   ;D ;D) asking me to quote for work  ::)
The dozzy gits forgot to bar the number out so believe me, I know all about those little spys  ;) ;)
