« on: 16 February 2012, 18:16:36 »

Following on from favourite car thread.. (was posted incorrectly in other thread - sorry)

Worst: Mine was a Wedge - Austin Princess. First car, was desperate (very desperate) and bought a trade off. My my, it was awful.  :-[

A toss up between a Ford Crapi and a Ford Sierra. Both pretty reliable, but utterly dull, characterless, uninspiring cars to own and drive. My Viva used to eat clutches and gearboxes but it was my first car so I loved it anyway.

By a country mile .........Citroen Xantia .
Got it new in 1993 and when it was delivered I couldn't fit in it .My head was hitting the sunroof .
It turned out that the car I test drove was a RHD Euro spec with no sunroof and different seats.
In the 70K miles I had to drive it it frequently ran away after the front discs cooled and allowed the handbrake to slip , caught fire twice when radio cassette loom shorted , suffered squeeling front discs from day 1 to end , regularily had to have the suspension repaired when it bounced like a hard rubber ball plus due to the seating position I had to adopt gave me a pain at the bottom of my spine that I still suffer from......
All in all the biggest piece of siht I ever drove.

And I'd thought I'd be the first one to post it up! ;D Austin Allegro 1100S, although actually.. I think the Rover Metro 1.4D was worse, by a long shot (especially after I stuck it in a ditch  :-[)

Think that award goes to a Fiat Panda. Bought off a guy in a pub for a round of drinks. To be fair it was reliable. Gave it to a friend who drove it around for a couple of years.
