Auto about 21ish average run and low 30's on motorway, not drastically different to the 2.5 unless you release the horses ;D

As I have a 3.2 this info may not be of great use .. but up to you .. :)

On my 2.5 over 10,000 miles I was averaging 24.7 .. this included continental towing as well as mixed UK driving/towing

In the 3.2 over 1500 miles which includes 400 miles of towing, and a some "playing" as its a new beast ...  :) I'm averaging 22.7 .. not a great deal of difference.

On a motorway run solo or towing, at legal speeds,  there is very little difference in the two. What I do notice is that around town, stop/start stuff the big lump is thirstier, and when the right foot gets heavy then the 3.2 a) gets fun, b) likes a drink !!

I'm guessing the 3.0 would behave the same ... driven sensibly (?) little difference, light her up... yup she'll drink more.. but you'll be smiling more ...  :)

I have an 8 mile journey to work that takes around 40 minutes and includes 17 sets of traffic lifghts, 4 roundabouts and 27 million other cars.

'99 2.5V6 auto driven reasonably sensibly.

Average speed = 24mph, average consumption = 19mpg!!

:(

Mind you, still cheaper than the train (+2 buses) and way more convenient and quicker than three different buses! I'm inside the M25 too. So much for encouraging people to use public transport!

My 3.2 is on 18.4 mpg, lots of short runs to work and back very little motorways then it might get as high as 25mpg, you don't buy a 3lt for economy :-)

On a good motorway run at a fuel efficient speed the Inst.Cons. would probably read about 35mpg.

As for around town, which is most of my driving, I would say about 22-24mpg.

I fill the car up every few weeks and get about 40 litres in when the needle shows 20 litres left, and that normally does me about 200-220 miles.
