A true star. Much loved & sadly now much missed. Put's some of todays so called comedians who rely on sarcastic quips...(Jimmy Carr) to shame.

My sister was involved in organising a charity event which he was appearing at about 5 years ago.When he arrived with his son (who was his manager iirc) he told my sister to keep Frank away from the drink as much as posssible,as the more he drunk the filthier his jokes would become.
Sure enough,Frank was sneaking a drink,here there and everywhere all night long until he hit the stage.Apparently those of a sensitive persuasion had to keep their fingers in their ears until he had finished.Filthy as break from start to finish.

I spent an amazing couple of hours in the bar of the Crest Hotel (as was) in Wembley at the time of the first Thames TV 24 hr Telephon with Frank, Jimmy Tarbuk and  three lesser known comedians ( whose names escape me now), but all big golfers and tireless workers for charity.
Frank was a gentleman, funny, entertaining and made us feel at ease in this social enviroment, I thought at the time " What a genuinely nice chap" so I wish him a fond farewell and thanks for the memory, RIP.
