bonnet release lever
« on: 25 February 2012, 20:35:52 »

Hi,
Can anyone tell me the correct way to refit the bonnet release lever. As the pictures show the cable is attached to the plastic and i am guessing it connects on or in the metal slot shown. I was wondering if it may have a piece broken off as i cant get it to fit.
Any advice would be a big help.

it just slots in with a tap on the top, there is a plastic bit that sticks out stops it from coming back out when pulling the release. that but can snap off but should still fit on the slot just dont yank the handel.

There's a (fixed, round) bit of plastic on the bit that falls out which is a sort of hinge pin IIRC, which just 'clips' into the fitting that's attached to the car.  It's a horribly  cheap-looking set-up for such an elegant car.

As said it should clip in if aligned up properly, for future reference you dont need to remove the plastic handle or its clamp to replace the cable.
