No hot air
« on: 27 February 2012, 19:48:32 »

Here we go another F'ing problem with this poxy car.
Put the new thermostat in & drained the cooling system which had no antifreeze so flushed & changed the system & refilled with Vx antifreeze & bled it, coolant level is perfect & temp is spot on but I'm still getting no hot air from the heating,  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Did you flush the matrix?  It's a common spot for all the shite to accumulate and fester  :y

The pressure going in to the matrix is not that high, best done with a hose on full chat first one way and then the other.  If you put a bowl down and catch what comes out you'll be amazed! :y

Really appreciate the offer & I'll have a go at it tomorrow as you've got a Boat to paint on Saturday but if I get no joy I might take you up on it.
Cheers mate  :y :y

Flushed the matrix through both ways & came through clear & no blockage >:( still no poxy hot air & it's been bloody cold the last few days >:( bled out the cooling system just to make sure there is no air in the system & all good running temp is great so it is really doing my nut in, could the HBV be knackered?

Try general chat!

Anyway, a few questions

1) Are you getting no hot air on both sides  e.g. passenger and drivers?

2) Was this ok before the work you did?

3) Any other work done at the same time?

4) Is the vac pipe from the bulk head to the byapss valve fitted?

no vac pipe = heat to the cabin  :y

but hbv could be fubared, best way to test is to suck where the vac pipe goes on and see if tou can feel the diaphram working. also pull off vac pipe and block the pipe this should allow coolant to flow through to the cabin, do this then feel the matrix pipes as they go through the bulkhead to see if they are both getting hot
