thats assuring to know :) the thing im looking for is the soft compounds which i belive these have, as my car is only going to weigh 600 with me in it! im gonna need to get the heat in to them :)  so my wear rate should be longer than yours (so he says) and ive heard them t1r's are a nice bit of kit .

I'd love a set of r888 but whith the british roads the pick up on them would be nasty! have half of the road stuck to my tyre haha

Plenty of companies out there who make custom prop shafts (measure, give dimensions, receive shaft .. fnarr) - even if I knew I was decent at welding I'd probably farm that bit out, personally, given where it sits relative to your gonads.. ;D

Nice project though and good progress there. Do I spot Sierra steering column, Wilwood pedal box and some kind of Ford steering knuckle/uprights?

The Neova LTS are a fantastic tyre btw - are you running a mix of the Neova and T1R? That should make it pretty tail happy!

column yes and sierra uprights but its an obp pedal box :)

yeah I'm bravely doing that :P ive never experienced the yoko's to be hohnest but ive heard theyre rather good :)

And my prop is one i have made and got a local company to balance for me

Ooh, you genius - I've been considering the Haynes Roadster, the V6 seemed like a silly idea though... I take my hat off to you!

Haha thank you :) I would certainy reccomend it, and silly idea? certainly not  :P  ::) its entertainment at the end of the day :P

Not that I know anything about doing this, but how do you make/weld on the fixing points for the engine mounts and get it all lined up/level etc?

Is it a case of sitting the engine in on blocks of wood, packing it out, taking all measurements/levels etc, adjusting then welding in place? or something else?

Thanks
yeah pretty much mate, i level'd mine up with the sump off and put wood under it sitting on top of the rails and then went about doing it that way :) pretty trial and error tbh :) but luckily i've had no error so no complaints here :)

Omega General Help / Re: Knock sensor
« on: 26 April 2012, 20:04:30 »
a knock sensor without going into great detail on how it exactly works , pretty much a small crystal that picks up vibrations caused by the engine pinking/pre-detonating and what so on is picked up from the ks then sent to the ecu and then the ecu says "uh oh" so it alters the ignition timing to stop whatever bad is occuring inside your engine :)

handy devices if you ask me  :y

I hope that made sence

The actual transponder (in the key) or the Immobiliser ECU (around Ign)?

the unit that surrounds the barrel, sorry should have been more clear :)
