Thanks Lizzie,

Managed to free it...put the window down and with a combination of inner button and key jiggling managed to free it.  Locks and unlocks by the key only now.....looks like I'm changing a solenoid at the weekend now then..!

Thanks

Omega General Help / Stuck Deadlock
« on: 13 July 2009, 10:51:39 »
Morning All,

Does anyone know of an easy way to open a stuck deadlock....?

Basically, I let the wife use the car at the weekend and haven't been able to unlock the drivers door since....either by the remote, externally with the key or by using the internal button.  It looks to me as it's deadlocked / or the mechanisms jammed.  Strangly though the remainder of the car can be locked / unlocked from the drivers door.

Any thoughts..?

Cheers

Darren

Omega General Help / Cleaning Oil Breathers - How Often
« on: 01 April 2009, 13:50:32 »
Afternoon All,

Quick question ref how often would you expect to have to clean the oil breathers on a 2.2...?  Did mine approx 10k ago and it looks like they need doing again.  Main breather from cam cover to air intake was fairly gunked-up....although it did all come out reasonable easily......on the company car park that is....oops...!!! ::)

Cheers

....same problem on my 2.2 - caused by blocked breathers...oh and a spell of not hanging around on the motorway building up the pressure....!!  :D

For info....vauxhall want approx £25 for the gasket on a 2.2 and £75 to fit it.

Cheers

might be worth having a look through previous posts as there have been several discussions on the subject.

The impression I've got is that it's best to use genuine VX oil and change every 4k ish

Hope this helps :y

Omega General Help / Re: Ran out of petrol???????????????
« on: 07 January 2009, 13:34:53 »
...Gauge and MFD on mine are pretty accurate - confirmed that recently when I ran out...!!  Unfortunately I was going on the fact that it's supposed to be a 75 ltr tank and only ever put about 67 ltrs in when both the MFD and gauge said it was empty........ however there seems to be only approx 69 usable ltrs....as that's how much it took to fill it up post the run-out....!! :-[

Typically I ran out in sight of the garage....but was stuck on the motorway....!!! >:(
