Starting ok when cold. Once you switch it off it won't start again, it tries to start (a bit like the older cars when they were flooded). It will go if you persevere but it's a hell of a job. Then the light comes on. If I leave it for a day it will start normal. The car is very sluggish like towing another car. I have checked for sparks on all cylinders.

Hi
Omega 2.0 estate 1996. After the paperclip test I have the following fault codes

0505 idle air control voltage high/low

0110 intake air tempreture voltage high/low

0100 Mass air flow sensor votage high/low

0340 Camshaft sensor incorrect signal

1230 Power supply relay sencondary circut votage low

I have changed the cam sensor/air flow meter/crank sensor.

I may be wrong but it all apears to be due to low votage coming from a relay. If anyone can help. :-/

Omega General Help / Simtek Codes 2.0L
« on: 08 April 2008, 15:46:28 »
Hi all...
Having just started my miggy after changing the crank sensor (vx part) I am now getting 3 codes up on the paperclip test.

0505 idle air control voltage low/high

0340 Camshaft Sensor incorrect signal

1230 Power supply relay secondry circut voltage low.

Now she won't start at all.

Can anyone tell me whether the fault 1230 is causing the other codes to come up. It seems to be related to me.

Also where abouts is the power supply relay so as I can replace it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :y

Omega General Help / Re: 2.0L crank sensor fitting

Thought you might ask that...it was an aftermarket job. I only replaced thew wiring up until the connector and not all the way back to the ecu to be honest.

Omega General Help / 2.0L crank sensor fitting
« on: 27 March 2008, 16:42:01 »
Hi...can anyone tell me whether there is supposed to be a rubber seal or similar fitted to the crank sensor. Since fitting a new one the engine refuses to start. With the old one it run sluggish and was difficult to start when left for a few days. Is there any particular way of putting them in, it seems so straight foward, but maybe I am missing something.  Cheers. :y

Omega General Help / 2.0 L Camshaft sensor
« on: 20 February 2008, 09:59:13 »
Is it worthwhile upgrading the cam sensor to the modified one. I have to replace it anyway and was wondering why it was modified in the first place...unreliable maybe. Is it easy to replace the wiring for the new one? Any help would be appreciated...Cheers

Omega General Help / Re: No Brainer
« on: 20 February 2008, 00:17:21 »
To be honest I don't think it was a genuine part...I am confused as to whether the ECU is the right one. But reading on here about someone else with a simular problem they seem to have the same ECU.

Thanks for your reply....looks like I might have a faulty cam sensor which is what the code is for, however it is brand new, but spose it could be faulty...cheers
