Omega General Help / Re: More on Dti fault codes
« on: 01 September 2012, 03:52:16 »
Hi, I replaced the EGR valve a couple of weeks ago so that should be ok now. Wasn't showing as a fault on the latest printout. Thanks.

Omega General Help / More on Dti fault codes
« on: 30 August 2012, 22:49:28 »
Hi all, just had the car put on diagnostics again. Seems like its going through the menu. Now showing MAF fault (ordered already). Also showing PO400 & P1590. Had them cleared but back eml back on within 2 mins. Still lack of power but hoping new MAF will cure that. If not, back to the drawing board. Any info on other 2 codes would be appreciated. Thanks. Graham.

Omega General Help / Dti fault codes
« on: 29 August 2012, 17:43:48 »
Hi there, I have a 2003 GLS dti estate that is giving me problems. The eml came on a few weeks ago and showed 2 faults on diagnostics. firstly the EGR valve which I replaced and also ' inconsistent pressure from fuel pump' which was cleared and the car was ok for a couple of days and then the light came back on intermittently puuting the car in 'limp home' mode and after a few mins would clear. However, now the car is in permanent limp home mode with the light permanently on. If the fuel pump is knackered then its not really financially viable to replace. What puzzles me though is that when in neutral, the car will rev freely right across the rev band with no hesitation so I must question whether the fuel pump is really at fault. I'm still using the car as on the flat it isn't too bad but going up hills is a struggle. Any ideas please? Thanks.

Hi, the rear electric windows have stopped working on my 2003 cdti estate. Thaey work from the front drivers door switch. I have replaced ALL the switches with known working items, checked all fuses and even my local and excellent garage haven't been able to find the problem. Is there a separate relay for them as the RAC played around with all the relays for a different problem a few weeks ago and they haven't worked since. Thanks for your help. Graham

Omega General Help / Part number for injector pump
« on: 24 January 2012, 16:19:42 »
Hello all, would anyone know the vauxhall part number for the diesel injector pump on a 2003(52 plate) omega GLS estate please and if they are different to ones on earlier W,X and Y platers?  Also do they have one or two plugs? Thanks. Graham

Omega General Help / Dti fail to start
« on: 02 November 2011, 11:38:08 »
Hi all, I have a 2003 2.2dti that is baffling me in failing to start. No fault codes showing. Got the RAC out last night and they failed to get it going but whilst being towed to the garage I tried a bump star & it fired up. it ran and started ok for the rest of the evening. This morning, same problem. Started, ran poorly for a few seconds & cut out. Won't start again. Is it a fuel or immobiliser problem? any advice welcome. Thanks.

Omega General Help / Re: Cam Belt Changes on 2.2 Omega Diesel

Thanks for all your help. Looks like I'm off to Cheltenham tomorrow to pick it up then. The timing chain finally convinced me as I hate rubber time bombs! Just had one go on a Renal Slaguna that was only 9000 miles old!

Thanks very much for your answer. Any other weaknesses on these that I should look out for? After my last V6 finally curled it's toes up I want to get back in an Omega but I do 40000 miles a year.

Thanks for your help. It turns out its the release cylinder in the gearbox leaking badly so there goes another £400 with a new clutch! Thanks again anyway

Yet another problem. The clutch pedal is now on the floor and wont operate the clutch at all. Is this the master cylinder or the release cylinder please? Thanks

It was the green 30 amp fuse. I cleaned all the contacts & touch wood apart from a poor tickover, its pulling like a train now

Thanks for all your help. It turned out that the large 30 amp fuse by the battery had blown but right up in the corner & hard to see. Car now running but cutting out on braking more times than not. I'll look at that later but at least I can get to work now. Thanks again.
