Omega General Help / low voltage ??????
« on: 13 November 2010, 11:27:25 »
morning all

my omega, (2.5 petrol), is up the swanny
when it gets warm, as i'm driving the engine management light pops on and goes off again when the car is stopped and engine is idling. done the paper clip test fault codes showing are
87 -- Air con cut off low voltage
135 -- check engine light low voltage
73 -- airflow sensor low voltage
31 -- engine rpm signal or circiut no signal
 in that order
now sorry to be a dummy guys but not being an expert on electrics and the warnings comming from different directions, would this  point to one of the above problems having a knock on effect on the others or does this mean something more serious
any advice is much appreciated
thanks in advance

Hi all

would anyone have any idea why i keep blowing the connecting hose
(drivers side) to the secondary air injection
so far the lash ups have lasted 2 and 3 miles and the vauxhall one lasted 51 miles
i'm suspecting there is more to this problem !

thanks in advance

Omega General Help / vacuum pipes
« on: 26 January 2009, 18:46:35 »
hi guys,
just fitted the rocker cover gaskets to my 2.5 everything went well
exept i've got a homless vacuum pipe at the rear of the engine.
this is where i throw a spanner in my own works, looked at the photos in the haynes manual, (granted not very good), and on this site and i'm still none the wiser. the pipe in question is the smaller of the two pipes from the breather unit, the photos look like this pipe goes to the rear of the inlet manifold, but the pipes fitted to that, one comes up from the purge valve, (i think i've identified it right), in the photos this pipe looks like it goes to the outside of the engine, one is a larger pipe that splits in two and the last one comes up from the gear box area.
its always been connected up this way, whether its been piped up wrong in the past who knows, but the pipe from the breather i cant for the life of me remember disconnecting it let alone where i disconnected it from, cant find any any signs of where it connects and i cant even listen for an air leek as she sounds like she's running on two and a half cylinders.
hopefully i've made sence out of this,
please help !!!!  :'(
thanks in advance
all the best

Omega General Help / Re: Help Needed
« on: 22 May 2007, 20:09:43 »
hi all.
sorry to but in to this thread, but this sounds very simular to the problems i'm having with my beast, she's a 95 2.0 16v, runs sweet untill she's hot and if it dosen't cut out and go into limp home when i re start, she goes straight into limp home when i  start up . leave it a couple of hours and it's fine again untill re start.the paper clips telling me, 92 (cam sensor) and 94(hall effect sensor ? ). is it worth me changing the cam sensor or do i just need to go mental with the idle control valve,
would be greatful of any advice.

Omega General Help / removing stored fault codes
« on: 06 May 2007, 17:02:00 »
hi all,
wonder if someone would be kind enough to tell me the easest way to get rid of stored codes, got a draper fault code reader and the distructions say to remove the 'ec fuse for a few seconds'.now sorry folks i'm a dim wit and i'm bug*$£ed if i can find out where the ec fuse is,all i can find is in the haynes fault code manual that says disconnect the battery for five minutes. battery or fuse which is easyer.
many thanks in advance
