Take it back and get them to fix it? ;)
I think the 200+ mile round trip puts him off ::)

Surely they serviced it before you collected though so, inconvenient as it is, there shouldn't be any mad rush :-\ Give them a chance to arrange something :-\

Good point about the round trip (round .. heh)! I'm in no position to talk, anyway - bought all my cars locally and never tried to get the dealers to fix anything  :-[

nah molegrips are better  and quicker

Depends on how ROUND the nut has become  ;D Just making one flat will give more grip with the mollies  :)

cheers guys for all the info. just quickly called halfords.... they cant search via my reg number and asked me to bring the bolt in so they could match it up........... did consider doing my oil change in their car park  ;D ;D ;D

ill go to ford tomorrow  :y

had the same problem on the wifes escort dont know if its the same but the sump plug on it had a plastic washer not the normal copper one, few mins with a small blow torch melted the washer just enougth to loosen the bolt might be the same.The new sump bolt was only few pounds from ford not worth re'using IMHP .

get sump bolt from motor factors about £3 and ive got bolt removal sockets,gas bottle, nice long chisel if you get stuck  :y
