Took my motor into Kwik-fit up last week to take advantage of their free brake check. I had noticed a slight judder on my way home. So they had a good look around , and said they couldn't notice anything wrong, but suspected a warped disc. That will be £234, told him he was having a laugh. Took my car home and started the inspection myself. Took the wheels off removed pins from caliper and the brake pads fell out into four pieces . Changed pads for £20, What a shoddy outfit.

Yep. The lesson is: If you know what you're talking about, kwikfit are fine to use because you can laugh at them when they try to rip you off. So you can get what you want without the 'extras'. If, on the other hand, you are clueless, well you're gonna get done....by just about everyone. ;D

Doesn't mean they won't strip your sump plug and then seal it up with plumber's tape while you're not looking. ::)

I prefer not to let the retards work on my car in the first place. :y

This reminds me......

My mate e-mailed me when I was on holiday once asking what on earth this ''droning'' sound was. After him explaining it I thought ''wheel bearing''. Sadly I couldn't get to look at it though so was only going on info he gave me.

Anyway he calls me up to tell me of his day at Kwikfit  ;D they've took it on a test drive and their conclusion was ''yes mate, the gearbox is on its' last legs''  ??? ??? ???

So anyways he gets his new set of tyres which was the main reason for going to Kwikfit. Droning noise goes away  ;D ;D ;D ;D idiots!

I tried to find out how bad his tyre was but being an ignoramus to cars he hadn't a clue. but I suspect ''quite bad'' for it to be droning like ''aeroplane'' noise lol

I know all about kwik fit. Just been out and removed my locking wheel nuts and replaced with the standard ones. They'll either strip them trying to whizz them off or over-tighten them with their magic torque wrench. Five minute job for me saves a lot of potential grief later. ;D

The locking wheel nuts on my MV6 are made of chocolate. I think I might bin them......if I don't shag the little bastards during removal.

Got my car back from kwik fit. Apparently the steering geometry needs adjusting, same as my wife's megane. ;D I told them to leave it alone. Oh, yes, and the brake fluid should be changed every two years, not the four years it says in the service book  ;D fickin idiots.  ;D
