He's bleddy lucky you're still talking to him after 2 weeks of no contact following the end of auction.   

Walk away and bid again when he puts it back on ebay, he'll probably attract less bids second time round as everyone else that was interested will assume the car is shite and the previous winning bidder didn't complete on the sale!   

Also he should declare the lack of V5 on his next listing!    Although lets not hold our breath on that point!!   

I agree, and if he doesn't declare the missing V5 in his listing he could have dozens of OOFers Ebayers from all over the country asking if he has the V5 in his possession.

I agree .. but if Mr Brown of Lincoln is selling a car registered to Miss White of Stratford then more alarms ring and questions can be asked, than if Mr Brown of Lincoln is selling a car also registered to Mr Brown of Lincoln as there are far fewer alarm bells ringing. If Mr Brown cannot produce, or explain why he cannot produce, the registration document, then even more alarm bells ring ... IMHO

A scrawled bill of sale has more creedence than a V5.

Spoken to the seller at length today.

I am satisfied he is selling this on behalf of his parents. It's at his parents address, and there is a history of bills etc in thier name at the address the car is it.

Although v5 misplaced I'm still going to have it. It's local and cheap and I'm going to have a punt.

If it's a cracker I will fix up. If it's a heap I'll at least get my money back and break it
