UPVC here, front back and side! Just as long as you have at least a 5point locking system and a good euro cylinder it's style that sets them apart (and and bit of build quality).

Rob

Avocet abs is the best on the market at the moment.. The standard euro cylinders can be broken in 30 secs and after that it doesn't matter how good your locking system is.

Not talkin about cortinas, talkin about door locks :P

10/10 - £34 aint too bad when you think that with the best UPVC door in the world the lock is always the weakpoint.

We had a spate of burglaries round here where, if the door is not locked from the inside, they just reach in through the letter box and turn door handle internally.

I guess the answer would be to have the letter box low down, not next to the door handle in the middle, fit a knob not a handle inside, and or, lock the door from the inside. ESP at night.

They where after car keys. Which our neighbours kept in a draw in the porch. Right next to the fornt door. £1500 ins claim for new car lock set.

Sadly, the common method for getting in is to 'bump' the locks now (I have tried this and although it takes me a few goes, even I can do it!), takes about 1-2 seconds and causes no obvious damage.

The locks we have incorporate the fracture line but they also have two of the tumblers effectively 'damped' to stop bumping.

Worth looking out for.  :y
