The 200BHP 2.2
« on: 09 June 2012, 23:28:47 »

... We will find out Tuesday to see if I've managed it. I loaded the new engine map on before and wow does it fly now. Will speak to A&M Conversions in Deeside to try and book a rolling road slot in on Tuesday.

Fingers crossed!

140bhp to 200bhp from an engine map? To say I'm sceptical is an understatement. But having a 2.2 myself (be it off the road) I'm happy to be proved wrong!  :)

Unless its had a lot of engine mods or a turbo fitted a remap won't give you 200bhp unfortunately, you might get another 10% or so

A few other things have been done too - ported and polished inlet manifold and throttle body, fuel pressure raised and a smoother flowing exhaust. It last made 181bhp on the rolling road on a stuffy hot day.

Still can't believe those figures, not with such light mods. The Z22YH which was direct injection did 153bhp out of the factory

You will get different results, you'd get a different result on every single rolling road you took it too, however, this one said he had 180.9 BHP so he did make pretty much 181 BHP :y. That's an absolute cracking figure without a turbo on that engine!

I don't agree. The rolling road says it reached almost 181 BHP but who says the rolling road is correct. Its common knowledge that rolling roads are often set to show greater output ::)

I did think the heads were a bit different but I was assuming they would be the same. Wrong again  ;D
