Howe to calibrate CID with tech2
« on: 27 June 2012, 23:19:53 »

Hello
I have just instaled a ncdr with CID and cdc3 into my Omega.
The system works fine, and when i plug in my tech2,I get contact with the ncdr and the cdc3 but not the cid.
I would like to calibrate the BC but I can`t get in.
any one that know what the problem is? this system is from a Astra G so i think that the settings in the BC is programed for that car,not my 3.0 Omega.

Hope someone know what to do.
Thanks

i'm no expert, but it's my understanding that the astra and vectra units do not work in the omega....   the communication method being slightly different??   i could be wrong though......   (although i have a vague memory of someone saying you could swap some pins round somewhere.....   )

thus CID's for the omega being so hard to find and expensive....  coz they're rare, and in ever decreasing supply....

They do work (as that is what mine had).

There is a mode pin that has to be set (pin 1 from memory although could be 32?, needs a 0V (ground) connection) so if retro fitting this needs including. If its a replacement then something is wrong as the wiring should be correct.

The mode pin sets the programming mode  :y

As MDTM suggests, connect pin 1 to pin 32, else you won't be able to communicate with the unit.

Your TIS200/GlobalTIS will give you the correct code index to use. 3.2 is 74, 3.0 I think is 45 (from memory).

Thanks for replying.
Should the conection between pin 1 and 32 be permanently attached or just a loop in between when programing?
if I remember right, pin 32 is empty in my grey plug.

Allso my car is a 1996,I have replaced the yello(26) and the black(12) plug with a grey(32).
I tested the car with a MID from a 1998 and everything works fine. I haven't used my tech2 on this MID because everything was working as I should.i don't have xenon so the black/purple xenon levling thing is just blinded.this came up as an error.

OK, look at TIS2000/GlobalTIS/Web2TIS to find correct CI for your engine/gearbox/lighting/soundsystem/wheels etc combination. I assume you have access to these tools, as Tech2 isn't that useful without these resources.

State the following, and I'll look up the CI for you

Engine:
Gearbox: (Auto/Manual)
HIDs fitted: (Yes/No)

Fairly certain it should be 44 for that, but let me confirm first when I get out my laptop.

That is a toggle that is presented when you do the programming.
