Its safe to say you could get problems with any car/engine if the kit isn't fitted to a standard.

I have seen some really bad installs, there have been a few members on here that have suffered as well at the hands of so called 'experts'

I did mine DIY, any issues i had i created.....and then solved, the install was discreet and when it was at the dealers once it was asked it this was a factory fitment.

MIne is too you can hardly tell. when you open the bonnet all you can see is the injectors! (thanks to kev and james.) the filler is on the towbar and the tank is where the spare wheel used to live. :)

I only wish I had the knowledge to be able to do it myself! but it aint ever gonna happen!!

Don't u bother with a spare wheel then Marie? and slightly confused why the filler cap would be on the towbar!  :-/

I don't believe a word he says!!!

The Koltec/Necam kit that Vauxhall used as a "Factory Fit" is absolutely c**p!! Have a look at this forum and search for Vauxhall!

http://www.lpgforum.co.uk/

As an aside, most so called Factory Fit systems are in fact aftermarket systems, they just happen to be installed before the car is delivered!

If you want to go for LPG then do it... Your guy sounds like he's scaremongering. He probably isn't even LPG trained!! The after sales support on factory fit systems is very poor!

i have the spare wheel in the boot!

The filler went on the towbar for ease as we would have had to punch a hole i the side of the car which i was not happy with. with the filler on the towbar you dont notice its lpg. it looks like a towbar bit.

i didnt have a clue about lpg but with the right help its easy enough. would never do a conversion in a weekend again though! and i am sure kev  will agree with me on that! ;D ;D ;D

It's probably the case that mechanics get to hate LPG cars just because there are a couple of extra pipes and wires that they don't understand under the bonnet. They only see that side, not the cheap fuel.

LPG still has a lot of rumours surrounding it, the motor trade are still not entirely comfortable woith it for a number of reasons.

The additional pipework being one, as Keving has said people don't like working around something like an extra set of injectors.

The most ridiculous reason for not working on a LPG powered car was that the garage were not CORGI approved  ;D

Thats fair enough that, I don't think i would like a big hole putting in mine but I'm sure if its done right it should be a problem!!

Mine is on the towbar - I expect James mentioned it.

I have 12N 12S on the left and LPG filler on the right

We only had 2 options with the estate really. Bolt it to the tow bar or punch a hole in a body panel. There's nowhere on the bumper that you could get away with it.

The towbar option is easy, and also discrete - only a pain at BP at Okehampton as that is my only refill place between Worcestershire and Cornwall.

Get the angle OK and I can get it in without uncoupling

This was due to the main frame of the car being in the way.
looks good now though.  :)
