The tactile finish is crap on the face lift interior, as was the fashion on several cars at the time.. And the rattly door pins.

Other than that, it's far superior to the pfl :)
You forgot the sunroof. The sunroof paint flakes like a Head and Shoulders user. And the glovebox. And the centre armrest. In fact the entire interior.
what's wrong with the Glove box? Never had a problem with it.
And the pre face lift cheap nasty fake leather centre arm rest bubbles up like a blister all on its own with bits of yellow foam poring out of it like pustule infested galloping dermatitis  ! And no drinks holder. ;D
There might as well not be any they couldn't put them in a more awkward position if they tried  ;D also the glove box is rediciously too small and the soft touch buttons/switches peel / go white hmmm that about it if I say more it may look like I'm running the omega down :-X

Yes, GM/Holden/Vauxhall can build a decent RWD saloon. Unfortunately there are so many disincentives to sell proper cars in this country that we'll never see them. Sooner or later BMW will go over to producing FWD 4pot diseasel sh1tboxes and their work will be complete. ;D

Seems like sooner then ::)

They're talking about how readily the interior trim falls off, surely? ;D

To clarify, I have a late FL with the square topped pins. My car left the factory with door cards that have the little frame around the pin.

I've since replaced the interior twice:

Firstly with the doorcards from a '00 W early FL, to which I retro fitted the pin frames. These rattled like a bastid ::)

Secondly with the doorcards from another '00 early FL, which I fitted without modification. No rattles :)

Early FL have a slightly smaller pin which is pointed, whereas later ones have a larger pin which is squared off.

This larger pin fits the hole in the earlier doorcards nice and snuggly.  :y

To cure the rattles:

Early FL: simply fit later square topped pins. Just pop out the orange/red square and lift out. :y

Later FL: either fit earlier doorcards, or dismantle the frames and renew the foam ring inside it. The doorcards need to be removed to do this, the foam insert is pence from VX but some of the plastic parts are £30ish so don't break them :-\

They're all brittle plastic and clipped together :o at least the Omega is actually bolted together. ::) If GM can manage that why are VeWilltakeovertheworldsomehow unable :-\

They don't have real customers, taxi dealers by them buy the boatload and sell the at £70per week over ten years to broke taxidrivers who really don't care what they drive and only bought one because everyone else did ::) and older people who only buy beige Fabias, and only because they're 3 grand cheaper than a basic Polo :-X

You forgot the frustrated rep who really wanted a BMW 3 series but didn't hit his targets so he got a hand-me-down "Superb" (more irony) and now vents his frustration at other road users by driving like an @rs3h0l3. >:(

The real kicker with that is that the superb in question is more than likely a base model ex taxi with intergalactic mileage and a drivers seat that is basically a padding free bench, and which on a warm day almost smells of sick and kebabs ;D

Reminds me of the VW Passat Taxi I was in few weeks back, going from Eysford in Kent (near M20) back to my flat in London, it was after a wedding so quite "merry" in the back.

I got a bit worried when taxi driver started using TomTom, got even more worried when I looked out window to see signs for Gatwick!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Luckily was fixed price taxi, good job, think he made a loss on us!  ;D
