But... Comparing one person's MPG with another's is futile.  With LPG you will be paying about 65-70% of the cost on petrol, pretty much regardless of how you drive.

Actually you're right, not as expensive as I thought when I last stopped by the BP that sells it - could have sworn I saw two 9's, but maybe I'm thinking of the motorway services recently; where petrol was also a hideous price (145.9p I think!).

So, then, it's back to.. anyone know if the kits Tinley sell are good/useful?

Give Tinley a ring and speak to charlie. Never has there been a more friendly, helpful bloke.

I don't have a bad word to say about tinley...

I'd say if you can find someone who'll sell you an AC Stag 300 it would be preferable due to the knowledge we have about them but, contrary to what the manufacturers will have you believe ::), they are all the same beast really.

The great thing about Teilo's kits were that he bundled everything required to convert an Omega down to the last hose clampinto a kit for £700.

Even if you only need a few bits and pieces, if you start having to buy things piecemeal, the costs will mount.

Indeed, a bit part of the reason I'm hesitant about a different type of kit isn't so much the kit itself, but rather the lack of on-forum knowledge about it.

I'll see if I can find some other route to getting the Stag kit, perhaps.

OK. Some things to consider:

Specify 8mm Polyflex hose for the fuel line. Much easier than messing about with copper and a 3.2 needs 8mm really.
A 4 hole tank is preferable to a multivalve setup as the latter are marginal on a 3.2.
Valtek type 30 injectors cause a bit of a stumble when changing up at high revs on a 3.2 on a Stag kit. I suspect they are a bit slow for the application. Not the end of the world, but might be worth avoiding.

Ta Kevin - the first place I found was offering Valtek injectors, couldn't for the life of me remember if they were the good or the bad ;) Mind the vap is also a "Magic Jet" good for 350hp .. which is also one I've not heard of.

An afternoon of Googling to be had, I think :)

[edit] On the face of it, injectors aside, this seems like a good deal (I think, reading it, it includes the tank): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/STAG-300-6-ISA2-KIT-LPG-AUTOGAS-SEQUENTIAL-6-CYLINDERS-/200805040365

I think JamesV6 used Magic Jet injectors once. Good reports, IIRC. Some people do seem to slate them, though, so wonder if they are a bit variable.

I would be tempted to splash out on a set of Keihins to replace mine if I ever got fed up with the lag, although the most recent Teilo kits came with AC's own, IIRC, and they seem OK. A few Omegas running around on them now with no complaints (actually being able to buy them aside). ::)

Whoops, was editing while you were posting :)

I might have a word with these guys selling on eBay, they certainly seem to sell everything you'd need, as long as you don't mind dealing with Poland direct.

Yep, looks OK. KME reducer, so all that kit is well proven on an Omega.

Can't see a serial lead for connecting it to a PC, but that's not a big issue. You'd need a few extras, and tank+filler+polyflex+mounting hardware. It would work out more expensive than Teilo's kits, I think, but.. you can actually buy it. ;)

That's a KME Silver Vap, we use the Gold but should be OK :-\

I'll give Teilo a try now ;)

Aaron, as I'm nowadays busy with a friends mondeo with all sorts of LPG problems, I'll recommend, you renew every ignition component and alternator including battery before LPG .. or you may end up with all sorts of weird problems.. :(
