I'm contemplating changing my O/S exhaust manifold gasket and have been doing my research - so thanks for all the useful posts and to Amba who has sent me loads of info ......
I popped into a mates workshop today to find that he had a V6 removed from a car - so I had a good nose around the back of the engine to get the lie of the land ...
I had already realised that I would have to remove the Skuttle, Wiper assy, Plenum, HBV & pipes - but following my snoop can see that I'll also have to remove the coolant bridge and finally the oil cooler pipes as they can't be bent. That's as well as removing the coolant header tank, cruise unit and moving the OS bank HT leads out of the way ....
So, in addition to the manifold bits I'll also need Dowty washers (x4) for the bridge and washers for the oil cooler connections - plus a crows foot spanner (19mm) for the lower end of the oil cooler pipes. I'm assuming I can re-use the Banjo bolts in the bridge and cooler connections?
I'm sure I'll have questions about removing the OS cat/down pipe - but I'll save those for another day.
So - am I on the right page here guys?
Thanks - Rob
