Where we are going is a tad "out in the sticks" and we need transport .. so flying/train then involves the hassle of getting a hire car/returning the same ... which just eats up time and is always inconvenient... far easier, and more convenient to use the trusty miggy... :)

Plan of attack is now quite simple .... quick trawl around swidnod tomorrow to try and get the bits, including stealers if I have to.

If I get them .. change them  :)

If I don't get them ... backup the existing with some wire loops as suggested (thanks for the idea !!) and arrange to get the ones Tunnie has offered, then change them.

Seems quite simple ...... what can go wrong .. go wron....go wro ... g .....

:)

Done it previously meself Ent; using this kinda wire:

Oh, and be positive man .... nowt's gonna go wrong, trust me! :o

What a palaver !!!

Went to 3 places and all tried to sell me the small rubbers for the back (luckily I knew they were too small)  ended up at a place called "Formula One Autocentres" ... who listened to me and actually put the car on the ramp to look !!! Agreed that the centre ones were bigger than the rear ones, but their system only listed the small ones.

Rather than shrug shoulders and say forget it, the man in charge used his brain, took one off and went to his parts bin .... found a set where the holes align even though the outer shape is different ... more "teardrop" than the "oval" of the fitted ones..... They fitted these and checked that there was no clearance problems due to the changed shape .... all good .. and for the princely sum of £15:84 inc VAT !!!

Well pleased with that .. so the job is jobbed as they say .. :)

It is thought that the stainless exhaust may not have used standard fittings .........  which I didn't know ......

Many thanks to Tunnie for the offer ... I just wonder if you have the small ones the systems list..... or the large ones I needed.   :)

Good to see some places taking the effort  :y

I have a mixture, some are new ones which come with Eternal / ETS exhausts. They are tight on standard exhaust but do go on, not sure how different the stainless setup is  :-\

I do have a number of original sized ones, which are still intact some were cracked.

I'll take some pictures at weekend, glad you got it sorted  :y
