Facebook is a great platform for keeping in touch and reconnecting with people!  :y

You can set up an account in an alias if you want as you don't have to send in your passport to join!! The people who get into trouble using Facebook are those who don't understand it and those who slag it off are those who invariably have never used it!!

You don't have to share your details/photos with the whole world as you can restrict who can look at your account.  Having said that I'm careful as to what I put on my Facebook page and the only people on my friends list are friends in the real world too!  ;)

My tip to anyone over 30 years of age is give it a miss! ;D ;D ;)

When you register you give out your e-mail address and other info personal to you.  Then you post on the site exposing all that you put out to millions / billions around the globe.

If you like the idea of sharing gifts and thoughts, personal info., with teeny boppers, university clever dicks, or simply those who love to cause mayhem for people who are naive and believe they can trust everyone in the world, then go on the site.

On the other hand when you make the mistake of being on Fb then you realise how childish and boring for mature people it is.

If you want to communicate with people on line just use standard e-mails, or otherwise go to the local pub / bar / cafe and have fun with your mates talking to them direct!

Just my opinion of course, but that is what I found with Fb.

What's wrong with OOF anyway? ??? ??? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)
i am on it got no problems with it ;D ;D ;Dfor me to talk to my mates is a bit far like in germany ;D ;D

The internet goes to Germany does it not ???

So, go on, give them a song from the Valley's.  I have recently watched Zulu (for the 100th time!) and it seems those boyo's can make music go miles.  What a heart stirring sound, Men Of Harlech

Facebook is completely safe and harmless, you can hide all personal details if you have given them that is, and you can choose who can see your info by choosing from a list in your security section.

It is no different than posting on Oof in fact more people would view it here than facebook.

There is that old saying about knocking before trying, some folk are truly stuck in the dark ages imo.  :y :y :y

it depends on the level of information that you share.. but in any case your relations/friends and interests will never be safe for the group that have access to servers..

I use Facebook primarily to see what nieces and nephews around the globe are upto and like seing pics of escapades that they forget about in the morning! Don't post much onto it myself and am sure that the assorted settings keep private info private.

You can easily get more out than you put in, as long as you are a tad circumspect.  ;)
