Just goes to show if we are hit by these meteor showers there is no place to hide  Frightening to say the least

Sky reporting numerous videos from Russia, people going about their daily lives to be interrupted by huge pressure waves from the meteor braking windows and one instance blowing in a large and sterdy factory door.

Well, I say huge, relative to the size of the vapour trail. The passing meteor seemed ewuivelant to a bomb going off in the next street.

That landing on your head would certainly ruin your day. 

Just goes to show that none of us know when the grim reaper is going to call. 

Impressive picture and very lucky near miss for the people of Chebarkul. Would have probably been much worse with a much bigger shock wave if it had landed on land rather than water. Fortunately, Cherbarkul seems to be largely surrounded by lakes.

It is strange to recall that the last large explosion of an incoming meteor was also in Russia, in 1908:

I will always be startled by the pictures we first saw at school of the acres of flattened trees caused by this event. Then though it was in a very sparsely populated area of Russia, unlike this latest strike.

We can only imagine what the asteroid strike was like 65 millions years ago that doomed the large dinosaurs to history.

This "could" have been anything mind you. <Q twilight zone music> from an Asteroid, meteor, to an alien space ship or a large piece of space junk. The areas been sealed off by police around the crash site, so how will we ever know....? I mean this is the usual excuse for UFO activity right? Govt excuse sop. <twilight zone music fades out>
