well is wasnt that. but. the battery has drained again over night and the drain is now showing .41 amps it was 0.03amps. if i disconnect that main 80aqmp fuse on the battery box which is fv5 the drain goes. but i have checked all the fuses in the fuse box and none show any drain other than the door lights( as i had door open) but that goes if i hold plunger in. the immobiliser also runs from that circuit i think so that must be the culprit. but how can i test it. ive also unplugged every relay in the fuse box and the box next to the battery and it still showed between .41 and .35amp

nope that works as it should ive left a small usb charger in it with an led and that goes out after a while and comes back on when you unlock again. i just joined the wires back up for the boot mod i did and unplugged the plug from the box in the footwell it goes into and the drain has gone back to 0.03 amps then unjoined the wires again as it was before and still its at 0.03 amps. which doesnt make sense, the drains now gone. but all i did was touch that box

Was the .41 amp 10 minutes after the car was closed down or before that?

Just checked mine (remember I pulled the powersounder out) the drain is now about 0.05 amp on my clamp meter.  It's not really precise at such a small range so proably give or take a couple of 0.02 amps.  That's after the car has settled and arming the alarm made no difference.

I'd be happy with that it seems to be within spec but my new battery is currently 12.4V - 72% charged.  I would expect it to be kept higher than that.

Possibly the 0.05amp is rising when I'm not watching.  I have a meter with computer output that can log every second, it would be a hassle to set up but I may try it. First though I keep a manual log of the battery SOC.

What happens to your battery volts if you pull the fV5 fuse and leave it overnight?

you'll get a surface charge above 12.8V after charging it will soon go when any load is applied. Anything  12.8V or above after rest is 100% SOC.  A kanckered battery could read 13V+ after charging but not start a car mind.

its reading 12.85 volts and starts the car fine, will leave it overnight again and see what it goes down to now its settled.
