Hi Lizzie,

I guy I work with bought a low mileage Bentley Brooklands as his 2nd car, like you it was something he had always wanted, he paid around £25k for it and kept it for a year, he had a new set of tyres that cost £1200 and he then had a nightmare with an electical problem that cost £4k to fix, he then sold it for £8k.  Even with all that expense he loved every mile he drove it, he was unlucky with the electrical problem and in my opinion he sold it far too cheaply but once you have one you won't ever want to drive anything else and he is now looking for one of the newer shaped models as his 11 plate mondeo just isn't the same lol.

Oh and every time you stop for fuel someone will pass comment - in fact whenever you stop for anything someone will always mention the fuel consumption :)

Darren

That is all food for thought, thanks :y :y

Oh yes, one of those anywhere will be a talking point, and especially at the pumps! ;D ;D ;D ;D

As said though, the mpg is not my major concern :)

Would'nt be mine either,already got a thirsty V8 so another doesn't bother me :-X much ;D ;D

Lets be honest here Lizzie,if the thing blew up you'd only lose the purchase price which is about the same as 12 months depreciation on a new Focus ;)

Funny you should say that as I was thinking along the same lines!  Three years of fun for £7-10K is better than one two week holiday after all. 8) 8) 8)

Still highly tempted................... :D :D

Lexus LS400

 :y

25% of the price.
double the MPG
10% of maintenance costs
200x the reliability

same (or damn close) luxury

I've test driven both in the last month or so -
from the inside, you wouldn't know the difference, except I think the lexus is better!
