Fitted the other side and took the car for a drive. I'm still here so a good sign.

A couple of concerns:

It looks to me that nearside is riding slightly higher than offside. Extended shocks as per the guide and as suggested by Chris before dropping the car. But that side didn't lower as much.

The air feed hoses have next to no slack. I tried to spin the shock so bolt hole sits 90 degrees to the air valve but it wouldn't spin.

Iirc the air valve connector on the shock points directly forward. And yes, there is next to no slack in the pipe work. But its been a while since a played with elite suspension so see what others say.

Re ride height, measure from ground to wheel arch through the centre line of the wheel centre...both sides should be... Again I'm hazy, 675 mm iirc? But the same both sides within +/- 5 mm or so.

It may need to settle backin again. Maybe?

LOL, yeah, and what's with the 19mm bolt heads with 18mm nuts?!?!

BTW, what model BMW V8 you got?

<---- says there - e39 535i (The one NOT to have).  The 540i is much better ;)

LOL, dunno how I didn't spot that!  I had an e39 540 a few years ago, bad on rear wheel bearings... and fuel economy  ;D

If you Elite an MV6, does that make it an MVee-leet?

It's 689mm and 703mm. Just over 10mm

BUT the side that was "visually" riding higher is actually lower  :-\ Will try and find a flatter road to remeasure.

Reassuring to know about the air hoses though  :y

Bladders need to stretch out and settle, plus the springs will have eased off the rubber pads a fraction when the shocks are off/trailing arm extends. Etc.

Job done then? Well done SMD. :y

Do you mean forward as in pointing toward the front of the car? If mine was pointing forward it would give it a bit of slack. Mine is almost pointing at me when looking from in front of the wheel. Out of curiosity, can they be spun round? I won't be trying it though, I would almost certainly break something  ;D
