I personally don't know, I have never had to look at it before.

Is it covered in the Haynes manual does anyone know?

I think in this case, a pic is worth a thousand words.

Will the loose pipe reach the pump (for other OOFers helping, the TD SL pump is under car, towards the back, rather than the usual location hogged by the intercooler on the TD)

OK I will get a pic now and then figure out how to load it up.

The pump has a pipe connected at one end, and then the other end is loose, I guess that the pipe is about 2ft long maybe?

As in the pipe is connected to the pump at the top of the pump, but I cant figure out where to put the other end of the hose, I cant see anything that would accept it, unless theres supposed to be that clip or something on the loose end of the pipe, I will go out now for pics

not sure-but could that be gearbox breather hose-it looks to big to be self levelling pipe :-\

Small 4mm pipes to shocks look intact.

Its plumbed different to a v engine so I'm not sure, but as symes says, that pipe looks to thick to be air related.

What's the brown wire with cable ties? Looks, ahem, after market.  :-X

the reason why i think gearbox is mine is routed backwards--dont ask-numpty me did that when changed engine--but as to your querie-it could be exhaust/inlet for compressor-as said in reply 14 ;)
