What a Numpty!!  ::)

I'm sure that it was a joke of the moment kind of remark and nobody in the room took offence, but when will the man learn that the media and other parties will jump on this sort of thing and blow it out of all proportion!!  ???

Stones and glass houses spring to mind:

31 March, 2004:

The MP expelled from the Tories for telling a joke about drowned Chinese cocklers has been allowed back after making an unreserved apology.

Congleton MP Ann Winterton, 63, had the party whip withdrawn over remarks made during an after-dinner speech.

18th July 2013:
Liberal Democrat MP David Ward has had his party’s whip withdrawn over controversial comments he made in the lead-up to Holocaust Day in January.

22 December 2011:
Aidan Burley, MP for Cannock Chase in Staffordshire, was with 12 friends, some of whom chanted ‘Hitler, Hitler, Hitler’. One toasted the ‘Third Reich’ and one taunted a waiter for being French.

It's no big deal for the Tories and LibDems, but when someone from UKIP oversteps the mark — and has the whip suspended — it becomes a reason not to vote for them?  ::) ::)

Godfrey Bloom has had the party whip withdrawn and is likely to be kicked out of the party. He has pointed out that the old original meaning of "slut" was - a dirty, sovenly woman, which would fit with the conversation he was having.
That doesn't matter though,he seems ill disciplined and doesn't understand the ammo he gives to political opponents, and for that reason, they might be better to get shot of him imo.

Another non-story.

However, it shows that UKIP is absolutely no different to the big 3, and are puppets of our media. Which for a party that claims to be different...

Part of the reason the three parties are so similar in Westminster is that 80% of our laws are now made in Brussels with much more areas coming under QMV (qualified majority voting) under the Lisbon treaty in January 2014.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

If our relationship with the EU does not change through negotiation then by 2020 the UK will be a province of the EUSSR with all major decisions made in Brussels.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

I watched the programme about Angela Merkel last night and noted the closing inference that Cameron and Merkel were in some form of private discussion about ideas to sort out the EU. I hope this proves to bear fruit and serious cut backs into the Brussels nonsense emerges.

Slightly off topic but Silliband yesterday was not arguing for things that will grow business and influence a positive economic recovery but how he was going to reverse benefit cuts i.e. all pay out from taxpayers pockets and nothing/clueless on economic recovery.

I was in Hamburg last week and visited one project being built - yes in Germany - all the brand new storage tanks being commissioned were made in UK, the engineering design was a UK company, the specialised cleaning plant was from Italy with an Italian team doing the installation - maybe we have more to offer out there than we think we have. Also met up with my son's mate who is in engineering recruitment - business is booming particularly in Midlands - Rolls Rover, Landrover, energy etc.

Back on topic - if the true picture on the state of economy could be better delivered it would be helpful for voters in a general election - but I suspect another couple of years is necessary to really assess just where we are and if policies are working.

Did I say the other parties were perfect and faultless?

It is just UKIP want to show they are different and better than the rest, but Bloom highlights how they are not.  There are also still questions on their neo-fascist connections.  All in I will not vote for them, no experience, no pedigree, no track record, no large party discipline.

As for it being a "non-story", sorry but it is not in politics as that type of language against women, let alone his previous remarks, wins no votes.   ;)

Chatting to a fella the other day who has just got back from a few months working for for a British company in Stockholm where they are building a new hospital.  Apparently it's a huge project and the Brits are one of the main sub-contractors!  :y

I think, Lizzie, that UKIP know they haven't a chance in hell of getting loads of seats at a general election ( European elections are a different matter). But people will vote for them if only to shake some sense into the big two, esp. the conservatives. Never say never, look what happened in Italy not so long ago.
