Nope, not an age thing, its all down to the pub chains. They bribe the TV companies to show crap so that everyone pisses off out to the pub instead  ;)

I recall as a spotty youngster seeing "Robert Plant and The Band Of Joy" in my local dance hall, sometime before Zeppelin were invented. I think they were actually ok.
