just swapped back to the 2.2 manual, nice to have it back again. Have to say in winter, cloth seats are far better. Don't look as good, but much more comfy!

If I was looking again, think it would have to be a 2.6 manual MV6  :)

Problem is there's a big performance drop to a 2.6. Out of proportion to its' fuel consumption IMHO.

True. I just don't think I could live with a plod butchered interior day to day. I know it's all swappable, but nothing beats factory fit.

Plod spec cars have thier advantages of thorough maintenance, but sadly they are far from carfull in service. Two areas I'm not so good with, such as electrics and body work seem to suffer big time on the ones I've seen at auction, and the interiors are so basic... I'd prefer a retail omega by miles personally, especially given the omegas poor manual box/clutch combo compared to the relative refinement of the auto.

...but each to thier own, as they say. :y

Agreed. In the unlikely event I buy another Omega, I cant imagine buying anything but a 3.2. 2.5/ 2.6 is underpowered for the weight of the car imo, giving sluggish performance and no real advantage in fuel economy.

Blackviper and I went to look at my potential next purchase yesterday. The car was an 03 2.6 Mv6 with leather and cruise upgrade.  :y

To say I was drooling and fell in love with would be an understatement  ;D  :D

Just liked the look, feel, and spec of the Mv6....... I'm used to Cd's or Cdx's so the Mv6 is definately a step in the right direction.  :D
